Crack formed at bottom of pool, losing water

I just noticed last week that my water is going down by about 1" per day. Perhaps a bit less. Today, I noticed a new hairline crack at the very bottom of the deep end. About 3-4 feet long and irregular shaped. Occurred after some of the biggest rains we have had here in SF bay area in years. Is it worth donning my scuba gear and trying to patch with AB epoxy? Or should I just wait for summer to drain the pool for full repair?

2,

While it could be the source of the leak, it could just be a surface crack and more of a visual problem and than a real problem.

Most leaks are at the skimmer or at the pool light...

Step one is to see if the leak is the same with the pump on vs. the pump off..

Then let it sit for a few days and see if the water stops falling once it gets below the skimmer or below the light.

If you just can't wait, you can don your scuba gear and see if you can see any leak at the crack with leak detection dye..

Thanks,

Jim R.
