Hi,
I have a 2 year old Hotspring Limelight Flash model hot tub and it’s cover ripped off in a bad windstorm. The cover was in great condition only being 2 years old so it stinks to have to replace but the part that the cover lifter attaches to it ripped out of the foam and the buckle on the front stitching ripped off also. Anyway I sent the dealer photos as well as the cover lifter and I know there’s no saving the cover but the lifter is completely in tacked except for a small plastic piece at the end of the single gas shock. I’m not sure how it goes together but it’s a small piece chipped off at the end. She said there’s no saving that either and it is $469 for the cover and another $399 for the lift because they don’t have parts you have to buy an entire new unit then with install we are over $1,000 on top of them being 3 months out. Does this sound right? Before I hand over payment I want to make sure that’s me only option. I want to keep the same lifter I think to avoid drilling int the shell of the hot tub especially since the side rails are fine (each hollow rail just slides into the square piece attached to the shell)

lifter is hot springsCOVERCRADLE II COVER LIFTER with a single gas shock.
Thanks for any feedback.

Sounds right for hot springs proprietary cover and lift. It would be less to replace with a standard cover and lift, but you would need to find one that works with your spa installation.
Is your spa listed on your homeowner's insurance? You might file a claim.

Thanks yes it’s covered but $1,000 deductible. So there really is no way to get spare parts for the opener?

Only from a repair guy that saved some parts off of others at some time. Hot Springs does not even make them themselves and likely can't get individual parts from the manf that makes them for HS. I have never been able to get just a piece of any cover lift from any manf I have tried over the years.

Thanks good to know. I suppose I can pull the part I need and save most of it as spare parts for the future. My luck the same part will break again next time.
