Coping not level with deck

My pool was built nearly two years ago (owner builder). The coping is not level with the concrete deck, primarily in the corners of the pool next to the house. In the corner shown in the photo the deck is about 3/4" higher than the coping. At all four midpoints of the pool edges the coping is almost level with the decking. The level difference increases from the midpoint to the corner.

The difference in level seems to have increased in the first few months, but not since. I was concerned there may be some settling of the pool so in the past year I used a laser level to check for any movement of the top of the pool coping at the corners vs the bottom of the house and there has be no change. The pool itself is level. I don't think there has been any settling of the pool to the extent of the level difference, and certainly not in the past year. Over the past year the mastic has been detaching from the concrete and is getting worse which needs to be addressed.

I'm unsure what the problem is. I would like the coping and deck to be level. I have considered grinding the concrete deck to make it level and redoing the mastic, but deck may then look unsightly. Do I have a potential claim against the concrete contractor? He did the coping, decking and mastic. I'm wondering if he would say the pool might have settled and that is outside of his responsibility, but since the problem is primarily in the corners I don't think that is the primary cause, but would welcome any validation on that theory or other ideas.

Thanks for any advice.

Note: To the left of the highlighted area is coping (for the cover vault) so is part of the pool structure.

Who did the prep for the ground under the deck?

More likely the soil under the deck expanded. Maybe you have tree roots that pushed the slab up. I can’t see the surrounding areas to get ideas.

Are all four corners raised or only one?

The concrete contractor did the ground prep under the deck. There are some podocarpus trees nearby but I don't think they have invasive roots.

All four corners are raised. The two closest to the house are raised the most. The corners away from the house are slightly raised.

If the pool settled it would have cracks and it would not just settle in the corners.

I would talk to your concrete guy and see what he says.

I would not accept grinding it down to level it. The fix is to demo the slabs and repour them.
