Converting from baquacil to ??

Well, I'm pleased with my decision to drain and refill, thanks to your advice. Last night FC was 18 (I know, a little too high), and CC 2.5. FC remained at 18 overnight, and CC is .5. And I just read that I don't have to worry about high pH readings at this point so I'll stop testing that.
- So now I clean filter and replace sand and adjust CYA, right?
- Is it safe for me to schedule someone to install the SWG at this time, or should I wait until I've had two days of CCs at .5 or below?
- When is it safe to swim?
Thank you all very much. I think if not for finding this forum I'd be at least $200 lighter right now, still adding chlorine and getting nowhere.

Yup. (y)

Getting a second opinion never hurts.
When is it safe to swim?
Once the CYA is registering. FC with no CYA is harsh on swimmers.

And that's just this point in time. Imagine how much you'll save long term. (Or any of us for that matter) :)

Yes! It’s working! FC is staying above 7 - 9 during the day with the sun on it and I’m still adding liquid chlorine to target 15ppm. CC has been .5 or below for 2 days, CYA I think is about 40.
In moving forward to recommended levels, I assume that I’ll use chlorine recommendations until the SWG gets installed?
