Converting AGP to solar and saltwater

Hi All,
I plan to convert my 6000 gallon pool to saltwater and solar. my budget is $2,500. Does anybody have experience with the process or suggestions on the best way to proceed. I am in Raleigh NC and have full sun with no shade in my pool location.

Hello, I’m not much help on solar, but I do have the Intex SWG sand filter combo and it has worked well for me. If you want to keep your current pump/filter, I’ve heard good things about Circupool . I’m considering one for when I upgrade.

I also have zero input on the solar but with that size pool if u get the larger 15k gal intex swg it will do fine & leave u some $ to upgrade to a good size sand filter. There are quite a few threads here w/ pics for solar builds on intex pools - just do a little search in the box up top. You can definitely start w/ a solar cover which I think is a must when trying to retain heat in the pool.

Are we talking solar heating or solar electric? With the budget indicated I'm very much hoping the former.
