Removed screw panel covers, not too dirty except for some rust stains on the lower horizontal panel. some dirt but not a lot of mold that i was expecting. Light niche another story. UGLY! GOBS of mold. i vacuumed most of it to waste, sponged and brushed with diluted bleach. i plan to leave both the panels and niche open while i slam later. Thought i would start early evening when sun is not directly on pool.
As mentioned in this separate thread on a chemistry question, Remove mold (or ?) in skimmer/return lines, i am trying to get at whatever might be in the pipes.
As mentioned in this separate thread, Does aeration impact CYA as well as pH?, I made an aerator to try to increase pH without raising TA. It took a couple days but did finally get pH up to 7.5. I added a second row of holes that seemed to help.
