Controlling pentair intelliflo with Raypak Avia

Is it possible to control the pentair intelliflo with Raypak Avia heater? The heater has an auxiliary controller that is a common wire, normally open and normally closed wires. The pentair pump has an rs-485 cable input which is basically a yellow and green wire. Wondering if these two can be connected.

Ideally I want to run my pump at a low speed all the time but have it kick up to a higher speed when the heater turns on. I’m hoping the auxiliary function can switch on and off the program one function on the pump through this wiring somehow.

Any ideas appreciated thanks!

Welcome to TFP.

No, you cannot connect the relay on the Avia to the pump RS-485 comm line.

You can use the Pentair Intellicomm 2 to translate relay outputs to serial RS-485 commands for the pump. You would need to hack together the Avia relay controlling a SPDT relay which can switch between two Intellicom inputs.
