First off thank you everyone that helps out with this website. I appreciate it.

Do contractors normally charge extra if you get yellow algae in the pool .Ot sound like if you follow your program, and maintain a certain chlorine level and if you have the proper pH, you’ll never get it .He is a
Saying due to the fact that he has to buy more chemicals, I have to pay him extra money . I use to take care of pool myself that’s why I got started with this site. I found the only time I got algae is when I skipped or chlorine dosing.

Is it normal for contractors to charge extra if you have a bloom?

Yes he is in charge of maintain the chemicals. I don’t know if this is a common thing to charge extra for an algae bloom, but in my humble opinion, I would think that would be included, especially since from the way, I understand it is due to his negligence, not keeping the chlorine levels at the proper PPM . I will be looking for new pool company. Or do it my self again .
