We are at the beginning stages of considering building an in-ground pool. If we proceed, we of course will share the building details with the forum for advice and thoughts.

I was wondering if any of the mods, long-time posters, or other experts would be willing to serve as a consultant during the building process (even remotely via phone and Zoom if possible). Someone who could help interface with the pool builder (e.g., optimizing the equipment, design selections), provide guidance on key strategic decisions, helping troubleshoot any build problems as they occur, etc.

Is this possible? Thanks!

You will get more than enough of expert advice on this forum that you should not need to pay for a consultant. There are many ways to design and build a pool and you want to have as many viewpoints as possible.

+1. Hit up all your thoughts and wishes here and we’ll give you all our thoughts with real world experiences and the +\- of it all. You don’t have to agree with what we like/dislike, heck, we don’t even have to agree amongst ourselves. We just have to get you as much info as possible so you can make your best decisions.

You’ll call around and get 5 quotes (if possible) after you know what you want to build. We will pick those apart for any tweaks with suggestions why company A is better than company B. Your gut feelings about meeting them will come into play as well.

You sign with somebody and we will ride the journey with you, there for any speed bumps along the way.
