Confused on filter sizing and help selecting new unit

We are in the process of replacing the old DE filter on the pool because it is approaching end of life(18 years).
I believe it’s a 48 fť filter. Looking at cartridge filters, a single cartridge unit, 150, has almost twice the flow rate.
I believe in oversized filters, so I was looking at 4 cartridge units. Is a 150 cartridge unit that much more efficient than my de filter? Or are they playing MPG games with the math? I really don’t want the filter to be the bottleneck of my system.

The bigger the filter, the easier it is for water to pass through it, and the lower the back pressure. The bigger the filter the less often it has to be cleaned.

I have a Pentair CCP-520 and my filter pressure, using a 30 lb. gauge, is about one pound, at my normal pump speed of 1200 RPM. Even after a year, my filter pressure is less than 3 lbs. I used to clean it twice a year, now, I only clean it once a year.

That said, I do use hairnets in my skimmers...

If you are looking for a cheaper option, I just installed a Waterway 320 at a rent house pool and it seems to be working fine.
