Concrete pool up north

Is anyone willing to adopt me
I coulden't resist

I'm just home from my aerobic workout! I browsed through my thread briefly before I left and found myself smiling when I thought about all cheerful replies right there in the middle of the hard part of the workout. It brought me some some extra energy, thanks everybody
So now I'm here and have just finished my compulsury after workout meal, I'm like a dog and always eat the same food after workout and also the same breakfast everyday, i might change a lil bit on weekends but not much. I sure does sound interesting and spontaneus, don't I :? .
I'm a walking sixpack nowadays  with alot of veins all over which DW hates, but I like
Yea you will se for yourself in the video I promised you. Is that what they call to put preassure on yourself
This last two sentences is just to much even by my standards and I can't belive i post it, but you bring out the best or the worst out of me, choose for yourself.
Another fascinating post from my side, like someone earlier in this thread said :goodjob:

yours Sincerely
Mats

EDIT: Hi no-mas I'm totally recovered from my rib injury what it seems. I was home from work two weeks. My doctor thought I would have to be home four weeks but it healed faster than we thought. It's so boring to be home from work and can't do anything with your body. I must admitt that I went to the Gym everyday during my convalesence, what else should I do with so much time on my hands. Coulden't do much of a muscle building though but it felt good to be there atleast!

I'll adopt.

My yard boy/pool boy/errand boy etc goes away to college in another couple of years, so I need to start planning for some extra muscle around the house. :whip: I've seen your work, and know you're no slouch. :whip:

On second thought, you're probably better looking than I am, and there's the whole "foreign" thing too. I don't need to tempt the wife. Forget it; deal's off

LOL!!!!
I have to lend a sentence from Pulp Ficton when I say that I'm pretty f***ing far from looking good, just the body that is
So! If i now only could find a way to rip off the head from my body and replace it with something a bit more appropiate everything would be fine :goodjob:

It's starting to get ugly in here so I come back later this evening with some pool pics to light things up a bit

BTW No-mas did you noticed that you where the only one that bite the hook on adopting me even if you took it all back in the end of your post. I can't blame you foks! I have a hard time to cope with myself from time to time :hammer:

See you in a while, have to go outside and level off the newly poured concrete!!

Every little thing that I accomplish out there in the pool results in a big step forward to a finished product was I kept on saying, but atleast to a filled pool, which is more than good enough for us at the moment. But this thread "concrete pool up north" will probably live on for another year or two, so you know what you have to look forward to
Last weekend rained away for us so therefore have I spent the day with pouring concrete around the pool, a task a should have done last weekend. There is one side left that I hope I can finish on sunday, since it will be rain again tomorrow according to the forecast. I have poured 5" of concrete which is more than I should have done if I could redo it. That is a lot of concrete when you stand there alone with the cement mixer and a wheel barrow and a trowel in one hand and a vibrator in the other. I had almost a full days job just accomplish one side of the pool.

Since it will be rain tomorrow will I start to move down all the equipment down in the machine room where I just have removed the framework that was holding the concrete to the ceiling, and the ceiling holds up by itself :goodjob: I don't have the gear to connect everything together but It will be a great thing to get all the equipment out of our cellar, which is crowded as it is.

DW have choosed the tile that will surround the pool and that is 4mm smaller then what I had calculated with so I had to take the grinder an grind a bit away from the pour(see pic) so I can make sure that it will be no space between the tile plates and the surrounding wood deck. I don't know if you're familliar with the metric system but one inch is 25mm.

I attach a few random pictures for you to see. Not much for the avarage person but for us that like rebars and concret is there a bit to look at

Mats, I would adopt you just for your work ethic... but my wife already drinks too much beer, and adding you in there would break my budget!
LOOOL
Cheers Mate
Wifes dinner is ready I have to shut down otherwise Im in huge troubles, we all know how it works doesen't we.....

Lynn you sweet thing! How is everything going....
I'm sitting here swapping between all the building threads I have to catch up with, I'm not much for the telly so I sit here with the laptop in my knees infront of the tv with the rest of the familly. Or it just me and Eva at the moment to be honest, the daughters are finding things the like to do by themselfs even on friday nights nowadays. It wasn't long ago this day of the week was sacred for them and was for the familly only. But things they ARE a changing. They have turned 13 and 15 so it's time for them to become their own person's even if I don't like it much and force them to spend some quality times with us every weekend

I think I will step out and try to get our cat in and at the same time wet the concrete, It's always something about concrete when it comes to me, have you thought of that Lynn!!?? I must say that I look forward to start with our pooldeck so I can change material, I think I need that :goodjob:

Ride on Lynn and I will talk to you soon!!
All the best
Mats

I've been catching up on this thread an AMAZING pool build!! WoWWWWWeeey!!!
I have to say this post made me chuckle...
I have to ask...how much is too much???? LOL!

You know, King of Rebar really has a nice sound to it for me and is stunningly descriptive.

Mats, you might consider changing from Henry Porter......we could call you KoR as a nickname!!

Your progress is great and, I know I say it too much, but your work is just the best!!

See ya' later, KoR

Thanks for all refreshing posts everybody

An era has come to an end today, I have buried the last linear feet of rebars with concrete in our poolarea. So I'm no longer "king of rebar" like I used to be Dave
There is still some minor pouring left to be done, like on the top of the walls but this set of pics are the last ones that can go under the category concrete/rebar  I'm suprised that no one has told me to stop showing the same things over and over, sometimes I wonder how long I can continue :hammer:

It's 9 o clock PM now and I have just layed the last hand on the surface. The rain has been hanging in the air the whole day but I'm lucky so far, I hope it will hold for another hour or so, so it will have a little longer to cure.

Lershac! That is the elctrical cabinet that will supply the poolarea and the pool equipment with power. I will keep it simple this first season and will steer the pool pump by a clock which will indirect steer the heat pump. The lamps to the pool and poolarea will I run through a remote.

Here is a few pics from todays efforts, DW helped me out today :goodjob:

btw Sweden just did 3-0 on Canada in the worldcup hockey :cheers:HP and DW in actionIMG_0028.gif[/attachment:g6gogewg]HP and DW in actionIMG_0031.gif[/attachment:g6gogewg]HP and DW in actionIMG_0035.gif[/attachment:g6gogewg]

Matts, great to see you again!

I hope you know that, while I might not adopt you, you are ever welcome to stay with Louisa and me, anytime you want and for as long as you want :) (you might even be able to teach a couple of my coworkers a few things about building a pool PROPERLY :hammer: )

As always, thanks for the updates and pics :goodjob:

Take care, my friend!
