Combined chlorine test

I’ve been doing the DPD test this year and was excited to always get a zero or near zero reading for CC. Then we were away and I came back to a green pool. Zero FC and again, Zero CC. Added liquid chlorine to boost it to SLAM levels and read it overnight— water still slightly green in the morning with a .5 CC and swimmable FC. added more liquid chlorine — because despite the tests, there was a green tinge still. This morning, my FC is really high but my CC seemed low (1) again. Water is a perfect clean blue.

and as I’m sitting here with my coffee by the pool, the test tube turned pink, a few minutes later. Added titrating agent, it turned clear again. I repeated this process several times — now I’m at a Cc of 5, and the water again turned pink in the test tube while I was waiting…

so… was I really supposed to wait after titrating for CC and titrating again? Will it keep going or stop?
I assume I’m not done with the SLAM, but I’d like to burn off some of that Chloe.

Once a test is done to clear, dispose of the sample.

Having a low or no CC with algae in the pool is not unusual. Not all algae create the ammonia based compounds needed to create CC.
