Color selection is killing me!

Hey everyone. Hoping for some help here. We are installing Wet Edge and just can’t land on a color. Primarily due to the fact that I’ll find a hundred pictures of the same color that all look different!! I’ve looked in the viewing room here and all over the web.

So I’m hoping for some advice from people experienced with the Signature Matrix finish.

We would just like a color that somewhat closely the color of our current pool. A lighter turquoise blue. I looked at Caribbean but it seems too dark in the photos I found. Perhaps, Coastal Blue? I just don’t know!! 🥴

See attached photo for the color of existing pool.

Thank you for all your help!

PG,

Welcome to TFP, a great place to learn all about how to care for your own pool... :shark:

That looks like plain white plaster to me...

The problem is that any color you see on a sample is not what you see when it is under water...

Let's see what our other members have to say..

Thanks,

Jim R.

I’ve been looking at the photos people post of their filled pools with these colors and there is just SO much variation
Hey PGak and Welcome. Keep in mind that whatever pic you see is a momentary snapshot of that pool on that time of day. 20 mins later it’s a different shade itself. There will be a seemingly infinite amount of shades with whatever you choose. Time of day, weather and even the part of the season will make a huge difference. All you have to do is get even remotely close to what you like and you’ll see it, and 502 other shades that you didn’t even know you’d like.

But pulling that trigger befells us all. Lol. So best of luck.

Just remember when you are viewing pictures of pool colors the color is very dependent on several factors, sun exposure, time of day, time of year, surrounding environment, surrounding colors, etc. All of these things can impact the pool water color, in a photo. Pools of the exact same color often look differently. This is what makes your pool unique. Best of luck and remember you will be enjoying your pool soon.

Pool,

Welcome aboard! We've completed our preliminary design and are sort of in the same dilemma. Have you looked at the videos Wet Edge has on their website here? We found this very helpful.

hi Chris,

yes I have looked at their photos and videos. There are some colors in their other lines that I’d jump at no question, but signature matrix seems to be the best, yet hardest to choose from! What color are you considering?

PG,

If you like what you have, you should go with whatever "white" wet edge (or the plaster you use) has...

I wanted my mini pebble to look like white plaster because I like that color water.

Hi. Send you pm with pics of color range (well lightest I’ve ever seen it but not the darkest. More usual.). Hope that helps!

I think that Coastal Blue is going to give you a color pretty close to what you have. It’s mostly white white some pops of blue. Looks like a good choice. It won’t be exact but similar.

If you have plain white plaster now, it looks like "crystal blue", "gulf white", or "coastal blue" all seem like they should get you most of the way there.

Ok thanks for all the tips here. We saw some photos of Bali Blue so may decide to take that route. Just a tad more saturated. Anyone used Bali Blue before?
