Clueless! New to forum

Not positive, but I think it's a polarity issue and the absolute value is your salt level. Wait for someone else to confirm.

I was thinking the 2900 sounded about right. If the wiring to the sensor was reversed it would sure make sense. Seems silly they would have the hardware or software read a negative number as it can't physically happen. It would (did) only confuse people. :goodjob:

Thanks Kiss.... I did get the stabilizer at Lowe's for $14 per 3 lb package. I only got one package yesterday & got it started dissolving (when I get paid Thursday, will buy some more). I will try a new thread in SWG for my other question :D

SPARKLYPOOLITIS??!!!

I have been scrubbing the stains around the water line & they are slowly disappearing.

Why isn't someone in there appreciating all your hard work with a soothing swim :paddle:

Good to see it sparkly blue and your effort in fighting the green monster rewarded ;)

Thanks for the feedback on the salt reading :p I did stop at the pool store yesterday on my way to get cyanuric acid (don't get nervous!!) and had them test my water to see what they got for the salt level. They got 2900 for my salt, so I told him it was reading -2900 on my panel and he said, get this! "it's a programing problem... you can go in there and change it from Celsius to Fahrenheit or something like that and it will fix it"!!! I'm thinking to myself "IDIOT!! Does that even make sense to you??" But I just said "Oh, ok... I'll see about that then & thank you" LOL!!!

Well, anyways, I've been thinking about the fact that I had the SWG turned off during the entire SLAM and then when I turned it back on was when it showed the negative number. Maybe if someone knows how to reset it.... that's all it needs. In the mean time, I know the number is accurate, so I won't worry about the negative.

I'm going to call this update ...... The Happy Ending!!!!

It may be hard to see from this pic, but it is absolutely crystal clear to the bottom of the deep end (you can see the wrinkles in the liner) :cheers:

I have kept the pump running continuously (afraid to turn it off now that the pool is beautiful!! LOL). I have been adding CYA slowly. Here are test results from today:

pH = 7.8
FC = 7.5
CC = 0
TA = 130
CYA = 40
salt = 2900

My plan is to continue adding CYA slowly to get to 70. Lower pH a little with MA. Add a bag of salt to bring it up over 3000.

I'm thinking that it's time to turn the SWG percentage down & maybe give the pump a break by turning it off overnight. I know I will have to learn where to keep my SWG percentage at and how many hours of pump time by trial & error for my pool. Any other suggestions?? Am I on the right track??

Thanks everyone..... I'm off to :swim:
