Cloudy water

My current levels from this morning is
FC= 22
cc=.5-1
ta=70
ch=didn't test
cya=50
ive been slamming my pool since yesterday because I had alge. Algae is gone but is cloudy now. I plan on testing every 2 hours and adjusting And maintaining my fc at 22. If I keep up this process how long should the cloudiness take to go away? Also when I first tested the pool the ph was over 8 but I think I read that a ph test is inaccurate with algae but the test was over 8.0(the highest my Taylor 2006 has) so I added 9.9 oz of muriatic acid.would the ph have anything to do with the cloudiness and if I continue the slam process, can I take care of the ph after the slam process? Thank you

Don't lose momentum. Finish the SLAM and then adjust the rest after the FC has dropped below 10.

It can take several days for cloudiness to disappear, even at shock levels. You can speed it up some by brushing a lot to keep the stuff in suspension so the skimmer can grab it and the filter can filter it. You might try connecting the vacuum and leaving it on its side or upside down to act as a drain down deep. Also you can try Pool School - Add DE to a Sand Filter as mentioned near the end of the SLAm instructions. But only do that if you'll be around to watch the filter pressure because it can load up in an hour.

Keep slamming the pool until the dead algae has filtered out. That is probably the majority of your promblem with water clarity. If your pH was high before the slam started that might slow things down a little. Algae itself does not affect pH, but FC greater than 10ppm will cause it to read false high.

Keep an eye on the filter pressure and backwash when there has been a 20% increase over clean pressure. If you don't know what your starting pressure was, feel the water coming out of the pool return. If it is not a strong flow it needs to be backwashed.

How's it going, so I'm on day 4 of a slam process(algae/green water gone after first night) and have been testing adjusting my fc 2-3 times a day. My water is still cloudy and not seeing Any improvements.im not sure what's going on and if I'm doing something wrong. I haven't been able to use the pool this season and would love to get in it. My fc test from yesterday at 3pm was 17.5 and last night was at 20. This morning at 10:45 was 16.5. And brought back up to 22. Should I've seen the water getting better with 4 days of slamming? if my cya is lower then what my test came back (at 50 now,but say 35-40 if my test was wrong)would it be a problem to be putting say 5-10 ppm too much chlorine? Any help would be great. Also will do a (Overnight test and retest my cya which I don't have much left. Man that stuff goes quick lol.

I know I need to be patient, I'm just itching to get in the pool especially since it's 90 degrees today and tomorrow.i was able to see bottom this morning when I went out to check on the pool. do most people add 2/4 ppm more then There target number? If you put in 4-6ppm over your target, would it cause any issue? Thank ou

It will likely just waste bleach. If your pool is at the white and cloudy stage, you probably aren't losing much FC between checks. The algae is almost all gone. It's just the filtration that's slowing you down. Do what you can to draw more dirty water into the filter and improve filtration.
