Last Monday when checking pool Chem, realized my TA was low. Added baking soda and then cal hypo 73...not sure where my head was. Pool turned cloudy. The next day my pump died after 20 years of service. I ordered a new pump, slammed the pool... still the same cloudiness.
New pump installed yesterday, shocked (cal-hypo 73) the pool again and brushed it yesterday and today. Still cloudy.
PH 7.5
Chlorine 7.5
CYA 30
TA 100
CH 375
My pool guy said it was phosphates, since County has apparently added them to the water? I do have persistent algae problem on and off, as sometimes I fail to keep chlorine where it should be. Thoughts?
Did I create a reaction b/n the baking soda and cal hypo? Or CH is too high? Or phosphates? Or just keep slamming?
Thank you!
