Just took the cover off today. Last couple years the water was crystal clear. This year, from a distance, it's a bit cloudy (up close it looks fairly clear.). Once it fills up, I was going to circulate it all night, then test in the morning, and add first chemicals.
But I decided to add chlorine overnight tonite while it's circulating and see the clarity in the morning. Does this sound like I'll need to do any kind of slam, or might it clear up once it circulates a couple days, with FC at the high end of the range?
When I close it before winter, I use pool math to add the chlorine, plus I add an algaecide.

no, we don't recommend algaecides..
Gotcha. I'll read the slam process in depth tomorrow, but after a quick read now, tell me if I'm on the right track:
Test everything in the morning after overnite circulation
If PH is high, add muriatic to bring it down
If CYA is between 30 and 60, use the 40% ratio for chlorine
If CYA is low, add my granular CYA; do I have to wait for the CYA to come up before starting the slam?

No, once the sock is in the pool, start the slam.
30 minutes after sock is in the pool, start squeezing the sock, should dissolve quickly.
