Closing pool question

First time pool closer. Purchased a cyclone and have seen some good ideas regarding getting an extra pump cover and putting the cyclone there (possible next year)

Im curious if I can disconnect the pump to the filter (clear/cloudy tube) and back feed the cyclone through the pump to clear the drain for the skimmer (red arrow). Then hookup to the filter and run it through bypass to do the returns (blue arrow)? Picture for illustration.

I would open the pump lid and put a hose from your cyclone into the intake pipe to blow out your skimmer.

I would remove your SWG which opens up your return pipe to blow out your returns.

I’m trying to prevent air escaping by just putting a hose into another hose. With the clear/cloudy hose I can use hose clamps to keep the pressure. Would my idea not work?

Cyclone has plenty of air pressure. Just hold the hose inside the other and any air escaping will not matter.

I don't like blowing out returns through an MPV. he air pessure can damage the MPV spider gasket.
