Closing on a house with badly stained pool

So I looked and the house was flipped before the previous owners bought it, I'm guessing this is when it was painted if it was.

I gave it the vitiman c test and nothing. My Stain ID kit should be here any day now.

Try a little bit of paint thinner on a rag to see if paint rubs off

Got the water tested today, chlorine was high, everything else was normal. Well except CYA but the lady at leslies said to figure out if I need to replaster before I worry about it. I know that I am going to but sigh...

Also when I brushed the pool the stuff that brushed off the walls looked exactly like the stains, cept the stains didn't come off. So it must be vegetation related i think. There is no jet in the shallow end, just two in the deep end for the filter and one in the middle of the pool for the non-existent pool sweep.

So I figured out that the pool was resurfaced with fiberglass and what looks like paint marks is where the now deteriorated gel coat was rolled on.

Ok, that makes sense. It definitely looks like something that was applied with a paint roller. Thanks for the update. What's the plan now?
