Hi all,
Our spa can be separated from our pool and be kept open when the pool is closed this winter. We haven't done it in prior seasons but this season with COVID we think it might actually be used.

Anyone with experience doing this? I have never had a stand alone spa and don't know the first thing about taking care of one. My TFP however, is always perfectly sparkling!

Any wisdom about this decision would be very helpful. How often do I have to test/add bleach? Anything else I would add besides the regular summertime pool stuff? Is this just a bad idea?

Its doable if you have a generator or can winterize the spa quickly diy in the event of long term power outage. If an ice storm comes thru amd knocks out power for a day the temps drop fast and frozen pipes lead to huge excavation amd damage repairs
