Clorox salt alternative uses

Bought a couple bags of clorox salt for pool - then read that its not recommended and agreed with the rationale provided. Assuming I cannot return for refund, any suggested alternative uses for this salt where the source / metal content is irrelevant.

If a return is out of the question, perhaps dissolve some of it in a mixture of salt and water to use as a weed killer. Anytime I pour old water softener salt on the ground it seems to destroy anything in that area from growing for quite some time.

If it’s water softener salt, using it to sterilize an area is ideal. I keep the gravel areas along the street clean with salt. I’ve seen branded “pool salt” which is twice the price of simple “solar salt “ which is what I use for pool and softener. For our purposes lain salt is all we need.
