Cleaning rust of fire glass from fire pit

So my not so bright contractor built my firepit with a regular fire ring instead of SS. Needless to say it has rusted and deposited rust on my beautiful fireglass. So I ordered a new SS fire ring which I will install and will need to clean the rust off a bunch of the fireglass. What is the best method? I was first thinking of a TSP soak, and then some sort of acid wash. Can I use Muriatic or do I have to use Ascorbic or Oxacilic? There are lots of pieces so I don’t want to manually have to clean each one. I am hoping that I can just soak it all off.

Use CLR. Make up a concentrated solution and let the glass soak overnight. Easier and safer to deal with. Don’t bother with the TSP

The stainless steel ring will rust too...just more slowly....

Yep the stainless will eventually rust, so I will just resign myself to having to do this cleanup every few years.
