Cleaning Mold From Plumbing

We have been on the struggle bus this year with our pool, mostly fighting white water mold. I’ve read several times on here that you rarely see that in a chlorine pool, but we had it like crazy and have figured out that it was partially our habit of keeping the cover closed after first opening the pool and CYA off the charts making our chlorine ineffective. We are getting all of that figured out and know the way forward to prevent this from happening again, but my questions is how do we clean the mold out of our plumbing? It gunked up our filter so bad that we had to replace the sand, so I don’t want to run into that issue again. There is none in the pool anymore, but I’m just picturing it thriving in all of our pipes and waiting to cause us a new headache all over again. I keep reading about the ahhsome cleaner, but for spas only, can that be used in pools too? Or will the SLAM process be strong enough to kill anything left in the pipes?

Hey there... Got any pics of this mold? Proper levels of chlorine will keep a pool from developing algae/mold. I can't say I've ever read about anyone having white mold buildup in their pool pipes?

How do you manage your sanitation? What do you chlorinate with? Do you have a proper test kit? Got any current test results you can share?
Have you read this--> Pool Care Basics

I’m not positive that is in the pipes, just assuming because it was in the pool and the filter so likely in the space connecting them. This is the layer that would build up on top of our sand in the filter every few days. We were using dichlor and trichlor, hence the high CYA (it was at 176 when we started this process). Our test kit has not arrived yet, so our current test numbers are from the pool store. Obviously we still have work to do on our numbers, and we know where to go from here, just not sure if we also need to do something to clean the pipes out to prevent a future breakout.
