So I cleaned out the DE filter (opened it up and cleaned the grids), added 6lbs of DE power to the skimmer and with the skimmer/main drain valve open (diverter valve open) so I don't think the main drains are sucking and the side wall valve open i have this

So backup, was everything flowing well before you backwashed your DE filter?

Honestly didn't check, I think my plumbing and or valve had an issue all along then I introduced a bad pump into the equation not realizing it until your great advice then swapping back to my SS pump with new piping and valves is what did it. Now to let it run!
