Circupool vs TFP recommended CYA level

I just noticed a discrepancy between the CYA level recommendation of Circupool of 30-50 ppm, vs the recommendation of TFP of a CYA of 70-90 for a SWG pool.
In the past, I've been following TFP's recommendation, but my CYA level has now fallen over the winter to 40ppm, so I was about to add CYA when I saw the Circupool recommended level of 30-50. Can anyone explain why the two recommended ranges are so different and which level should be used? On the one hand, one would think Circupool would know what level is best for their salt water generator, but on the other hand, I know TFP's recommendation stems from many years of pool experience on the part of many members. Before I top up my CYA I appreciate hearing other's thoughts about this. Thanks!

One is a too lazy to look into it so let's just use the pool store #s, and one is science that's been fine tuned by thousands and thousands of members for many situations.

Such as, but not limited to, your NorCal pool will likely be fine with 70 CYA while a SoCal pool probably wants the 80 or 90. Seriously your state is like 12 states tall on my coast. :ROFLMAO:

Another example is the higher TA rec from the industry. You see, they choose 80 to 120 to help combat the PH tanking from the acid added with heavy tab use.

Remove the tab use, which removes the acid, but keep the 80 to 120 TA for SWGs because 'that's what's always worked'.

We lower the TA to help combat the now rising Ph with SWG or liquid chlorine. So we rec a 60 TA while they have a 80 to 120.

Morale of the story, we got you. There are reasons for everything, ask about them anytime.

Very weird!
Yeah, in my quick search I saw pages recommend 30-50, 30-60, 40-60, then 60-80. Ha. In the hotter climates, you definitely want the higher range, otherwise your cell will be working like a dog to keep up.
