So currently my VS pump push water through a bypass and doesn't go through the pool heater. I am wondering if still water in the pool heater will lead to corrosion/build up faster than if it moves through. Also would seem a small improvement in flow since the inflow would be going through the bypass and a little through the heater...
Circulate water through my pool heater or completely bypass?

I would assume it would corrode sooner but it may take a long time depending on water quality.
You could open the drain plug if it's not in use for while. Just remember to put the plug back in when you turn it on.
