Hello,
I just came back from Ocean State Job Lot to pickup some liquid chlorine (called Mega Shock @ 12%)
I was reading the label and it had an interesting warning that read
"Re-Entry into treated swimming pools is prohibited above levels of 4ppm of chlorine due to bodily harm" Who approves these labels??
I've adopted the TFP pool method because I think it makes sense, but it amazes me how many different recommendations are out there. With a warning like "can cause bodily harm", it makes the average pool owner nervous to adopt the process.
My pool builder says FC should be between 1-3, SWG manual says 1-3, pool store days between 2-4, TFP says more like 3-5 (maybe more like 8-10 for a target and safe to swim anything under shock level), and then warning label on the chlorine bottle says "bodily harm above 4ppm"
I'm assuming the warning label didn't take CYA into consideration. No question really, just open discussion on the different recommendations available.
