Liquid Chlorine
I switched from tri-chlor to liquid chlorine after my pool reached 100 ppm cya on the tablets. I replaced half the water and brought the cya down to 50. I bought the Tsp-dpd test kit and have been trying to maintain a 6 ppm free chlorine reading. I’m testing twice a day, morning and evening and get a reading each time of 3-3.5 ppm. I add liquid chlorine to get it back to 6 ppm per pool math after each test. So I’m losing about 3ppm every 12 hours or so. The combined chlorine is only between .2 and .5. PH is ok, Alkalinity about 90. Pol temp is 82 degrees. Does the chlorine loss seem excessive?? I had a light mustard algae problem when I had the high cya… do I need to SLAM the pool ?? Thanks for any input. 16000 gallon pool, pebble finish, sand filter.
