New liner, new sand. pH is a little low. Historically, I deal with high pH, lots of wind here so water surface almost always rippling. Yesterday was first water sample. pH = 7.2, this morning 7.4 without adding Borax. Do I wait a few days or add Borax anyway?

Your pH is great. No need to mess with it.

The TA level you show that pH will rise, quickly.

I'm fairly new to all this, but 7.4 is within the acceptable range according to the Pool School, seems like a perfect opportunity to wait and let nature do the job for you.

pH is now 7.8. No Borax ever added. Should I attempt to lower TA?

When pH reaches 8, lower it to 7.6. The TA will be reduced each time you do that.

So, it has been a week and my chlorine level is still pretty low. Does it take a while since this is really like setting up a new pool? Just want to make sure I am not missing something.

Are you adding chlorine every day? It is a consumable. It must be added.

Especially in Louisiana in the summer, you can lose 3-5ppm per day...
