Hi everyone, hope all are enjoying the holiday weekend. Okay, I thought I had testing to an art, but I have recently had cataract surgery that took me from 20/400 vision to 20/20, now colors look completely different to me! Attached photos are PH and Calcium samples. On PH, my result doesn't really match the comparator, do I just pick whatever is closest? My guess is PH is 7.9 or 8. The photo on my monitor doesn't show it as well as Id hoped, but it really does not match 7.8
On Calcium, directions say it should turn red, then blue, my samples appear pink/purple to start, then blue/purple at end after no further color change. Are these colors normal? I did read that metals in the water might have an effect on color, we do use well water to fill.
Or am I just overthinking it all and as long as I get a color change its fine?
And a final salt question. I added salt 12 days ago, the next day salt read 3600, 4 days ago it read 3800, today I get 4000. I am using the Taylor drop test. its a pretty easy one since the color does not change by degrees, but pretty much instantly at that final drop. I have also added water twice since the salt addition, it is brutally hot and sunny in ga right now. Neighbors went crazy with fireworks last night and I cleaned a LOT of chalky white lumps off my pool deck, sure it was in the pool as well, could that possible matter? it just doesn't make sense to me that salt could increase over 12 days.
TIA for any help.
