I want to add a check valve to my system. Reading the reviews(amazon) both pentair and hayward have about 10% 1 star reviews, maybe they're cheap knockoffs bought online, not sure. Is there some brand(oem necessary?) or place to buy one that will last at least a few years. It seems like the valve spring is often the cause of failure. Recommendations appreciated, thanks.

I’ve used jandy’s for 17 years and Each of them have worked flawlessly. Just finally rebuilt them for $15 a piece due to the rubber flapper seal wearing out.

Keep in mind that more than 10% of the people that post negative reviews on Amazon are total morons so that would not worry me at all.. That said, if I were buying pool valves today, they would all be Jandy valves.

If you get nosy someday about the flow rate on your system, there is a Flowvis flow meter retrofit for Jandy check valves.
