Changing sand in sand filter

Hi - I need to buy 150kg of sand for a sand filter and the size stated on the filter is 0.5 - 0.7mm. The problem is that I can only find 0.5 - 1.5mm sand locally, does anybody know if this will be ok??

I'm not sure but I have a question. Why are you changing the sand? There are very few reasons for a sand change. Usually a deep clean is all that is needed.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I've read this before but decided to change the sand simply because having looked at it, it was so very clumped together and it was difficult trying to push the hose in to loosen it up for the clean.
