Hello, Looks like the time has come to replace my pump. I currently have a 12 yr old 1.5HP single speed pump. I am very happy with the flow coming out of the returns and would like to keep that. My question is, should I get a 3.0HP pump so I can run at lower speeds (50%) to maintain the flow I like vs a 1.5HP one that I would need to run at 100%?
Thanks for any and all input.

Jean,

The bigger the pump, the slower you can run it and still move a lot of water.. The slower you can run it the less it costs.

I never recommend smaller VS pumps... Yes, they will work, but the larger VS pumps will work better.

Thanks,

Jim R.
