Changing out Sand Filter

So the pool is full and the sand filter is leaking like crazy so we are buying a used Sand Filter on fb marketplace. How do we change it without draining the pool.

You have to plug all the return jets and suction lines. Perhaps consider adding valves to them also to isolate the equipment from the pool.

& that’s only if pipe risers terminate below the level of the pool.

Well, this is an above ground pool ... so that was my assumption

How do you plug the return jet?

Depends on your returns. I know someone once talked about shoving a carrot in them.
