East Central Florida
Hello we are going on a 2 week vacation 1st one since having pool installed
Should I slam it and add float pucks before we leave and turn all electronics off in case we can't get anyone to come over and make sure everything is ok
It is a salt water pool TIA

Why don’t you just leave the system running as you have today? You have a SWCG so you will be getting constant chlorine. Just ensure it is set to replace what you lose each day in terms of FC.
Adding pucks will increase CYA but also some benefit in reducing or keeping your pH in check. You may want have some one check the pH while you are away and add some muriatic acid if needed to keep your pH in 7’s.
You have a screened enclosure so you don’t need to worry about the skimmer baskets getting full.
Just let it run - do you have someone to check while you are away?
I have a camera on mine so I can check that nothing is leaking, etc.

54,

One of the great things about a saltwater pool is that it will let you go on vacation.

Two weeks should not be an issue at all.

Let's see what Marty, our King of Vacations, has to say... Calling @mknauss

Thanks,

Jim R.

Do not know if pool water would evaporate enough to cause pump problems.
Your pool is in a screened/covered area, so you should be okay. I would be sure the water level is near the top of the skimmer opening just before leaving though to be safe.

Just another thought can I turn off the valve to the skimmer and just have it go through the drain to recycle the water with pump on that way if it goes below the skimmer I would not have to worry as the water level would always be above the drain
Here are pictures of the piping

Absolutely. Or maybe adjust 50/50?

I think that would be a great idea for your situation and reduce your paranoia. Since you have a screen enclosure you will have minimal debris and since you are turning off your water the should your water level decline you don’t have to worry about air being sucked into the pump via the skimmer.
Turn the valve that the word OFF faces the skimmer pipe which gives 100% suction from the main drain.
The pump and SWCG will work fine to keep your pool at the proper FC level.
Have a nice vacation.

Thanks to all for all your advice and
Update Turned valve with off facing skimmer suction increased to skimmer turned valve with off facing drain suction stopped at skimmer
Could they have labeled it backwards?

Cameras, several cameras. That is what I have - along with Screenlogic. Since you will not have debris filling a skimmer, no issues.

We have been gone for up to 75 days. Had someone empty the skimmer. They did add acid a few times based on my direction via camera and Facetime!
