I wish this site had a "search this thread" function. Anyways, I know it is a little early to be talking about this, but I live in northern Utah. What are the thoughts about leaving up my pool during the colder time of the year. Trying not to say the "W" word yet. :) Obviously if I did, I would drain it to below the level of the return. and take the pump inside. Thanks again for your time.
I am afraid this got lost in the discussion of the board...any thoughts?

Here is a thread on winter and intex pools
Did you leave yours up over the winter?

i have seen reviews from people in places like michigan and pennsylvania who have left their pools up during the winter months and they were fine, so i guess if you follow the proper winterizing procedures you will be fine.
Thanks

It does at the bottom of every page. It says "Search for:" with a little magnifying glass.
AAAH, there it is. Thank you..that should keep me from asking repeated questions.

Seems like it should be okay if I do it right. But, we'll see. Thanks you for taking the time to search for that for me.

I look at all these beautiful pools on the forum and while I admire them, am not really into anything expensive (and permanant). I have really enjoyed our Intex this summer but never so much as I did last night. After a lonnnggg week ending with working concession stands for our minor league BB team (fundraiser for our HS marching band), my hubby and I returned home at 11pm on a hot, muggy night, totally aching from standing for 6 hours straight...told our teenage kids to stay out of the backyard, stripped our sweaty, stinky clothes off and went skinny dipping! Our Intex has never felt so good! The water was oh so clear and refreshing--and for some strange reason not a mosquito around! Woke up this morning and realizing we are working yet another 6 hours on our feet AGAIN tonight, will get through because we know that we have this wonderful pool to come home to.

i can actually stand by the pool with my skimmer net and scoop up debris as it comes by! i could never do that with the 2000 gal pump. we had a rain storm right before i shot these pics. i watched dirt and debris coming off the pool floor and just waited for it to come by to scoop it up. this is great! and no more cleaning filters everyday! :-D

intex's new 16'' sand filter with .95 HP motor model# SF20110 pic at the end is the intex SWG i have connected to it. the sand filter was $199 on amazon plus shipping. alot of online sites are out of them right now. the whole system is great so far! :-D

Ahh, the thing is, I don't think I would like to buy an intex pump. It clearly looks like alot of custome fittings above, what if one of the components break? in a real setup, the filter, the motor, and the basket are interchangeable. The intex above looks like like atleast the pump and basket are one piece.

the filter, motor, and basket are all separate pieces put together. it had to be assembled. you could change out any one of them. intex has the parts online. pool looks very clean this morning! :-D
