CC won't go to 0

Ringwood

FC: 18

TC: 1
Cyanuric Acid: 30 - I know this is a bit low, but it's nearing the end of the season, and I have plenty of bleach
Total Alkalinity: I'm not sure, I don't test often but its probably high like 150. I never adjust it, and have not all season, because my PH is always on the money.
pH: within range before I started to SLAM

I noticed over a a good amount of time, maybe 2 weeks, that something seemed a little off. I started seeing some build-up on the floors and walls, looked to be algae, not a whole lot though, and the pool was not really cloudy, maybe just not crystal clear. I'm in the NE and we have been getting slammed with storms. I know this doesn't help so I have been trying to keep FC on the high side. I also know I probably didn't keep up with it enough previously. A few times when I went out to test/add it got down to 1 or 2 ppm.

Not a big deal though, I'll just SLAM the pool. Anyways started increasing to SLAM levels on Thursday(around 11PPM) and really got it cranked to above 15 consistently on Saturday( I had to re-stock and it was a thing, you guys know). Anyways it's now Monday night and I'm still sitting on 1CC since Thursday, I can not get this thing to budge. The pool is crystal clear and cant really see much or any build-up. Maybe a few spots, but again its been storming like crazy so I can't really tell if its a small amount of algae or just debris stuff from the storm. I brush, run the robot, and backwash daily, but still 1 CC. It seemed like a really small problem, so I figured a day or 2 tops would know this out, but its still turning pink on the back-end of the drop-test.

Anyways, just looking for some advice here, I'll keep it cranked up for the time being, but was looking to get the pool back to a use-able status soon. thanks.

Try cleaning out your test vial with bleach or rubbing alcohol. Then retest FC and CC.

Also.
You can safely swim in a pool as long as the FC is above the minimum and at or below SLAM level based on your CYA. You must also be able to see the bottom of the pool in the deep end of the pool.

You don't say if you are covering the pool or not. If you are, leave it uncovered for 24-48 hours and your CC test will likely drop to 0 or .5 ppm (which is treated the same as zero)

Otherwise, brush the pool thoroughly and then perform the OCLT as domct203 suggests.
