I've used TFP method for over 10 years. This May, I was frustrated with my measured CYA level, and thought I would see what Leslie's measured. I took a water sample over, but the staff and trainee were having trouble getting any results from the automated testing device. With the line getting longer, I decided to return another day. My wife took the sample in the next day, and their tester was working. Here are my results from the same day, and Leslie's. My pool was clear, and there were the usual Spring time algae streaks on the walls.
Test Leslie Me
pH
7.7 <7.8
FC 1.5 8.0
CC 1.5 0.0
TA 0 70
CYA 5 40-50

They recommended addition of 29 lbs 7 oz of Leslie's Alkalinity Up, and 2 gals 38 oz of Instant Pool Water Conditioner.

I did neither, but did a SLAM to deal with the mustard algae. After SLAM, I was measuring low CYA, so continued to tweak the CYA level using some 3" tablets for a couple weeks. This episode reinforces my conclusion that testing at Leslie's is not to be relied upon.
