In the middle of a slam white cloudy water can almost see the bottom.
I have two cartridge filters I switch out when one gets clogged up which is about an half hour run time.
New one arrived today ! Yes!
Pretty sure old ones are no good...
I guess my question is how to keep it from breaking down so fast? The older two 1 might just be 2 years old..
Just closed pool at the end of the year and rinsed them out.??
So overnight I took out filter put a skimmer sock on let it keep filtering.. Skimmer sock this morning had lots of dead algae looks like brown sand if I'm correct, so how to take better care of my cartridges???

Thanks

My pool uses a single Pleatco cartridge filter and I think it's going on 3 years now. I just rinse it out with the pressure nozzle as needed. Some people will soak their cartridges in a TSP solution overnight before rinsing them off, but the rinsing alone does well for me.

My cartridges are 5 years old. Just fine. And they are used year around.

You should get far longer life than what you are getting.

Wow 5 years of use for cartridges, that's my dream! How do you clean them, and how frequently?

Thanks!!!
I spray them with a water nozzle. I clean them once per year.
I soaked them in TSP this past spring to remove any oils, etc.
