Cartridge filters: Unicel vs. Filbur

Hi TFPers,
Hope all are having a great day.

I need to get some new cartridges for our filter. We moved in last year, and I cleaned the current ones last summer. The filters were pretty stained up and they were not the correct size from what I learned after the fact. Anyhow, it has been on my list of to-dos.

Through research here, I learned that Pleatco filters really don't compare to Unicel or Filbur. And, of the later two, Unicel gets the nod. I have been Google shopping for filters, and came across some deals on Unicel and Filbur. The Filbur is cheaper though. Just wanted to figure out what others would do here. Get the Filburs, or pay a little more and get the Unicels? Is there really much of a difference between these 2 brands.

I think they are very similar. Although have also read that the Pleatco are a little lower quality.

Might as well start another thread: Dodge vs. Chevy vs. Ford :lol:

I vote for Pleatco over Pentair OEM cartridges. Don't know about the two you actually want to know about.

Judging from the limited reponses and no poll results, I can infer that it is 6 of one, half dozen of the other. As such, I will just be getting the Filburs and save the $40+.

Reason for not looking at the Haywards is b/c they are generally more $. That link you provided Donny is for Unicels anyway. Tx though.
