Caretaker Pop Up Heads

I have Caretaker Pop Heads that are threaded.
We bought the house a few years ago and noticed that some of the in floor pop ups were missing. I recently found a box of the missing heads buried in the attic. Attempting to install them is when I noticed the threads in several of the housings are damaged.
I have several that will not screw in, is there a r
etro kit for the heads. I am new to caring for a pool so any help or guidance is greatly appreciated.
Enclosed is a pic of the pop ups.

If you are talking about the threads on the pop-up and not the receptacle collar in the pool then you can simply replace the head. And given that exposed spring and rust and gunk in your photo, I would strongly recommend replacing them.

There are a few online stores that sell the pop-up heads. Just be sure to order the "threaded" option and not the "bayonet" option. They start at about $45 per, plus a couple bucks for the nozzle insert. You should figure out what size nozzle was designed into each position in each pool zone, though I bought a few different nozzle sizes to play with results. The combination of nozzle sizes in each zone helps maintain adequate spray coverage within the zone.

Lastly, if you haven't already figured it out, the threaded heads have reverse threads. So, CW for removing, CCW for installing.

Sorry, I don't have any experience doing that. Don't know if it's necessary to drain and/or replaster. But the telephone customer service at the online replacement outlets has been helpful to me. I'll DM you the one that was more knowledgeable.

I do have one collar out of my 29 total which was clearly replaced at some point before we lived here. I know this because it is not a threaded collar! So I have one Bayonet style pop-up head and 28 threaded heads. The funny thing is that the previous owner had a threaded head inside that collar, so clearly didn't figure it out (or didn't care and/or was lazy.)

Anyway, it is a pain since the parts are not interchangeable. I don't recommend mixing the styles if you do replace just some of the collars.

I forgot to mention that the nozzles are not really removable. So playing with what works where is kind of tricky unless you have pop-ups with various nozzle sizes that you can move around and test one zone at a time. In other words, try to test with existing head/nozzle combinations before installing the new nozzles in the new heads.
