My pool is almost finished. Waiting on pebble. Super excited and nervous about the new cost of chlorine. Also nervous about being able to take care of this new addition to the family. Any advise on start up. I was thinking about adding hose filters to filter the water. Would this be a good idea?

Welcome to TFP! Congrats on the new oasis. :swim: Be sure to follow your builder's start-up recommendations for warranty purposes, however you should also become familiar with the link(s) below so that you can address any issues right away. Not all builders utilize proper chemistry to manage water during the critical cure phase, so it would be in your best interest to read the links below. Good luck!

I have been lurking for a while. Actually didn't come across the first link about the start up. I will definitely ask the builder about it and follow those steps listed. Thank you.

I just have some general encouragement! Taking care of the pool feels very overwhelming in the beginning but it becomes routine pretty quickly. You should order your test kit soon if you haven't already. Get that little auto stir gadget too! You can practice testing on your faucet water to get the hang of it. I used liquid chlorine last summer because a component of my SWG was on backorder. It was doable but I'm looking forward to not having to add chlorine most nights. It wasn't a big time waste but took a bit more planning when I went away on vacations
