Can't keep PH in recommended range

Hi,

The PH in my pool seems to constantly be at 8.0, even though I keep adding Muriatic acid. It's a fiberglass pool and the manufacturer says it should be between 7.2 and 7.6 to maintain the warranty. I've been using the pool math page to calculate the amount of acid to add.

Currently:
PH 8.0
FC 3
TC 3
CC 0
ALK 80
CH 220
Salt 3600

Am I missing something? Is there anything else I should be doing to bring it down?

What is the pH and TA of your fill water? Are you filling your pool quite a bit with that fill water?

pH rise is normally tied to elevated TA. Yours is not all that high. How often are you adding MA?

I have fill water with 140ppm TA. I add about 12 oz of MA to our 6000 gallon pool a week during the summer as we add up to 1" of water per day.

Being up at 7.8 - 8.0 or so will not hurt anything. You CH is fairly low so no worries about calcium scaling.

I am really not sure why the manufacturers provide recommended ranges with no explanation for their basis.
