Little to no debris on bottom of pool.
First week didn't have much luck, think it was because I wasn't brushing. Back washing wasn't really getting my any nasty stuff in the sight glass. Was keeping chlorine above 17.

Week two I got irritated and started brushing every 4 hours or so (except when asleep). Baskwashing twice a day and getting green and brown stuff in the sight glass. Yay progress. And bumped chlorine up to 20.

Well not making any progress now. I've brought the chlorine as high as 30 and not having any luck. I tested the CYA last night and think it's all gone... Must have backwashed too much?

Pump has been running 24/7 for 2.5 weeks. Water has some yellow cloudyness to it. I don't think my liner is stained... At least I hope not. I let it go green over the winter (from Jan to now). I've been adding de to the skimmer after each backwash. It hasn't been very sunny here lately. My chlorine is still testing high enough, even with no CYA. I'm in the process of ordering more.

Any suggestions why I'm not able to get this last bit of green? Or what's causing the cloudiness?

I've used flocculant and have vacuumed the Grey stuff off the pool floor. So think im doing something right. Just can't get over the last bit here.

When you say before slam, do you have full test results before & after bumping FC?
I ask for 2 concerns:
- That PH, was the FC over 10 when measured?
- Did you have CYA AND FC before SLAM or last season?
- The CC's are a BIG tell
... I tested the CYA last night and think it's all gone...
The CYA test has to be done in full bright light (indirect daylight is best)

How did you handle the Floc removal?

Using the tft test kit. It's about 18 months old... Hopefully the stuff is still useful.

And tested the cya inside, not out in the dark.

Unfortunately I didn't do a full test before slam because Im a moron and figured I'd just dump a bunch of chlorine in like last time and be good to go after a week.

I THINK I did the pH before slamming, as I'm at least aware enough it won't be accurate once chlorine is bonkers high. It is possible that pH is reading high and it is actually lower.

I did measure cya and fc before slam and sure it was 50 and 0 respectively.

I used a couple of ounces of the bottle of hth blue stuff and diluted it in a 5 gallon bucket and poured it around edges of pool/jets. It took a while before anything fell out to the bottom though.
