Hello everyone,

After lots of success last year, I thought that opening the pool this year would be a breeze. Unfortunately, I keep encountering some small, stupid issue each year. I'm getting frustrated.'

Last year, I bough a brand new Hayward Swimpro Voyager Cartridge Filter. Had no problems with it all last year. This year, I opened the pool and hooked up all hoses and set up the pool filter. Everything was going smoothly, until I tried to put the lid on the Pool Filter. I CAN'T GET IT ON. First, time I cranking with all my strength at it wasn't budging. Finally, I got the lid halfway on and it was even HARDER to get off. I tried again and got it to go further but it still wont turn enough to engage the "safety locks". I can't even get the lid off now.

I'm wasting time and getting so upset. Any tips?

Now my pool is just blooming more algae everyday that it sits there unattended.

Is there any recommended lubricant? Could the new cartridge filter be the wrong size? I matched up the product numbers.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I attached some photos for viewing.

Take out the cartridges and see if it will close. If so, the cartridges are either the wrong size or are not properly seated.
