Can’t find pool light switch!

I just purchased a home with a pool and before I go crazy, I just want to run it by the community, I cannot for the life of me find this switch to the light in the pool. It was on when we moved in and for the past month at this point. Did older pools not have switches for the in-pool lights as a safety feature or something strange like that? Or do I just have more hunting to do?

That’s a good idea. I’ll find the circuit and then go from there I guess. ?

Usually by the equipment or within sight of the pool. Maybe on the back of the house or deck.

I'd look in the garage wall..... we have a few odd light switches for the yard on various walls here, you might have too?

If it’s not by the pool, or pump area... a friend of mine had his in the dining room, you could kinda see the pool from there!

If it’s low voltage, you could probably trace some conduit fairly easily from the transformer by the pump, or along the exterior wall.

Also want to toss out the possibility of a photocell, I don’t know if it’s a thing for pool lights or not, but wouldn’t hurt to check around.

You know, that’s something that I hadn’t thought of until just now. I’m sure he’d be easy enough to look up.

Ours was behind an overgrown shrub. It was probably visible back in the 1970's but has gradually disappeared behind the growth.

There's a double outlet box with the doors mounted by my box. One is a plug, the other hides the light switch.

That's how mine is setup. You have to look to realize that one is an outlet and the other is the light switch.

Mine is built in to the deck overlooking the pool, right next to an outlet.
