Can I use liquid chlorine instead of bleach to SLAM?

When I look at the SLAM calculators on the website and mobile app I don't see an option to select "chlorinating liquid". I'm having a harder and harder time finding just regular ole bleach locally....seems like everything is either the "no splash formula" or the "disinfecting bleach". If I use Chlorinating Liquid how do I calculate the amount I need to SLAM my pool?

thx,
Jason

The are the same. Liquid Chlorine is being used now as it has no additives. So we are calling it that. But both are chemically the same.

When you get the liquid chlorine, the bottle should show the percentage of sodium hypochlorite. Select that percentage in pool math. It will probably be 10% or 12.5%.

If you are using chlorinating liquid instead of regular bleach to SLAM your pool, you will need to adjust the amount of chlorine you add to achieve the same results. Chlorinating liquid typically has a higher concentration of chlorine than regular bleach, so you will need to use less of it. To calculate the amount of chlorinating liquid you need to SLAM your pool, you can use the same process as for regular bleach, but adjust the amount of chlorine you need to add based on the concentration of the chlorinating liquid. For example, if the chlorinating liquid you have is 10% chlorine and your pool requires 4 ppm of chlorine to be SLAMed, you would need to add 40 fluid ounces of chlorinating liquid per 10,000 gallons of water to reach that level. It's always a good idea to double-check the dosage and concentration of any chemical you are using with the manufacturer's instructions or a trusted source before adding it to your pool.
