…tropical storm Ernesto is coming to the Caribbean tomorrow.

There will be heavy cloud cover for a few days and my solar batteries will drain down.
I will be conserving electricity and if I turn off the pump I can get it down to 0.3kw. Thereby helping the batteries stay above 50% state of charge. The local power company is my back up to recharge the batteries, but with every storm that power goes out.
My choice is between what’s optimal for the solar batteries, and what’s optimal for the pool.

Any advice?

Cheers, Marcia

I would top up the FC level to SLAM level for your respective CYA level. Let it mix then shut down pump.

Good idea. Thank you for your help.
As a point of reference when Hurricane Beryl came through Houston area, I topped up my FC (not to SLAM level) but higher then my normal target. Then I loss power for 3 days. I just added LC by the gallon to SLAM level and I brushed my pool. I also had a battery operated cleaner that I had charged up before the storm so I ran that to mix the pool water as well. I survived over 3 days with no real circulation other than brushing and high level of FC.
