This hole on top of my skimmer lid splashes out an amazing amount of water while the kids are swimming. Is there an issue with plugging or covering this hole? Or am I seeing more water come out of it then there really is?

I think the hole is just so you can get the lid off..
I'd plug the hole with a 6" piece of PVC that I could use as a handle.

It happens to me but only when my water level is higher than usual. I've plugged it with a piece of pool noodle on those occasions.
