I am trying to figure out if I can lower the pool water level with my skimmer. The previous house owner did all the pool plumbing so I am not familiar with what these pipes do. I do suspect the previous owner had a hot tub at some point that they got rid of, and that is why there is a red valve, but I might be wrong. The main drain on the bottom is capped. Can any of these pipes be going to the drain? Please help. The rain is overfloawing my pool. Is my only option to buy a sump pump?

I suggest get a cheap sump pump. My pool is on a high area so I'm able to just siphon extra water out maybe that's an option for you?

You don’t have a drain in that photo, like mentioned go pick up a cheap sump pump or get a bucket. Don’t let the water level get up over the skimmer opening
